Seva Story #33 of 100

Aloha,
Today’s Seva story comes from Jessi who lives in Milwaukee. Seva means selfless service  for the benefit of community and environment. I am collecting and sharing 100 stories so we can get inspired, get ideas and spread positive news.  Jessi writes:

“I volunteered about 15 hours per week from Sept 2013-Feb 2013 in a K5 class at a downtown Milwaukee charter school http://www.mcfi.net/SEDA.htm .  This school had many children coming from impoverished and unstable homes.  Some children were troubled and/or handicapped (autism, bipolar, physical handicaps, etc).  Despite all the challenges surrounding them, they were truly inspirational…   Our teachers have a lot to juggle.  I think about these particular dear children from 2013-2014 in Mrs. W. and her aid Mrs. S’s class.  On my last day K5 joined with K4 and sung together “Lean on Me”…  one of the many beautiful moments I experienced.”

This is a great example that our Seva work provides inspiration. So if you feel you’re stuck in a rut or tired of your routine, try participating in any kind of Seva work to get inspired. Please share your Seva work with me so we can spread the Seva! Aloha and Namaste,  Johanna Waters, E: info@johannawaters.com
